Sanaia is applesauce reenvisioned as the adult go-to afternoon snack. After strong branding and a investment by Mark Cuban on Shark Tank, Sanaía can now be found in hundreds of Walmart stores across the country.


Keisha Jeremie, owner of Sanaia Applesauce, came to SmashBrand to take a family tradition of chunky applesauce paired with exotic flavors of the Caribbean and bring it to the masses. But, how do you get consumers to see applesauce any other way, than as a kids snack?

Exploratory research uncovered strong association with applesauce to kids food and lacking in flavor and texture. Several insights led to strong positioning of the product as a healthy alternative to yogurt with exotic flavors that would entice consumers and visuals to showcase just how different this applesauce is.

Appearing on Shark Tank, Mark Cuban offered a deal to invest, and she readily accepted. Sanaia can now be found in Walmart stores across the country capturing market share and growing steadily.
